Baglietto 2019

As we move into 2019, it is only natural to reflect on the previous year. And what a year it was! For me, the year began on 10th February – my first day with Baglietto. I hit the ground running as on my fourth day the Miami Boat Show began. From the start, our goal was to bring Baglietto to the forefront of the market in the Americas. Our presence in Fort Lauderdale is vital as it is the epicentre of yachting in the U.S. and the Americas will continue to represent a large portion of the global market share.

The shipyard in La Spezia was in full swing with five boats under construction, including the fourth hull of the T-Line Displacement series, which was being built on speculation. Certainly the highlight of the year was selling that boat in August, right before boat show season. We were lucky enough to work with a gracious owner who was happy to allow Baglietto to display her at the Cannes and Monaco boat shows. The boat fully reflected Baglietto’s quality and craftsmanship and was received extremely well.

We are anxious to display the 48m – now named Silver Fox – at the upcoming Miami Yacht Show in February and the Palm Beach Boat Show in March. A fifth hull is already in production and available for sale. It is again being built on speculation, which speaks to the financial strength of the shipyard as it continues to expand its production.

Baglietto has come a long way since being acquired by the Gavio Group in 2012. The brand is primed to take advantage of the robust economy in the Americas and expectations are very high for 2019. The yard’s customisation ability, expert metalwork, progressive design and attention to detail are exactly what our customer base is looking for.

On behalf of the Baglietto team, I wish you all the best for 2019!
